Dr Jean Boulton

Jean Boulton is a strategy practitioner and researcher who works on the application of complexity thinking to leadership and strategy.

Originally trained as a physicist, she later moved into organisational consulting and has spent many years working with leaders on strategy, change and organisational development. Her work focuses on how organisations can operate in environments where outcomes are uncertain and cause-and-effect relationships are not linear.

Jean is an Associate of the International Futures Forum, a network that explores new approaches to economic, social and organisational challenges. She has written widely on complexity and strategy, including Embracing Complexity: Strategic Perspectives for an Age of Turbulence  and The Dao of Strategy.

Her work examines how leaders can think and act differently in complex environments - paying attention to relationships, patterns and power rather than relying solely on prediction and control.
