Professor Chris Mowles
Professor Chris Mowles is Professor of Complexity and Management at Hertfordshire Business School, where he leads the Doctor of Management programme &postgraduate research pathways. He is widely recognised for bringing complexity thinking into real organisational practice and has delivered lectures at institutions across the UK, Europe, and North and Central America.
Chris is the author of several influential works, including Complexity: A Key Idea for Business and Society (2021) as well as the revised edition of Strategic Management and Organisational Dynamics with Ralph Stacey. His writing explores how organisations cope with uncertainty, how strategy emerges in practice, and how people make sense of change together.
Alongside his academic career, Chris has more than 25 years’ experience working with leadership teams, boards, and international NGOs.
